 I believe I learn best when I have hands-on activities. I find it hard to understand material when I am just being talked at, I learn best when I can absorb material through learning how to do it myself with hands-on activities. I can sometimes even thrive when I have a worksheet that helps explain how to do everything. I like when I have a couple different ways and version of the instructions so that I can fully understand the assignment. When I can have a clear understanding about what I am instructed to do, my work is much better. Overall, I think I do best when I can learn through hands-on experiences that I can learn from instead of class discussions where I feel singled out or worksheets where I feel pressured by the amount of work that looks daunting.  I never truly understood the concept of all math. I have only made it to algebra 2 and I am still confused. I think the idea of all kinds of different math is just weird to me. I don't understand how people can be so interested in it that it is their profession. I had the hardest time understanding certain equations and how they functioned in real life. The class I also wish I knew more about was chemistry. I didn't love the class so I didn't do as well, which meant that my grade wasn't very good. I think any class that involves science and math takes a long time for part of brain to fully understand how to do it. Summary: Today we went over how to find claims and back if up with evidence through experience, observations, and readings. Reflection: Learning how to back up my claim is vital for a strong claim. Knowing how to use a claim with strong evidence through experience, observation, and readings will make my claim that much stronger and more believable. 

Though I believe that some people identify with me, most may not. I believe in Jesus and I believe that He came and died for my sins and the rest of the worlds. This sets me apart because I have built my life and faith upon a foundation that is supernatural. I see the world in a different lens than most. I understand that life is hard and that it is bound to be because we live in a fallen world that is full of sin, however I know that following God allows me to have peace within difficulties. I know that some of my peers have the same belief and values as I do, but I also know that the majority don't. So though I am not completely set apart from everyone, my faith stands out because it is one of the most common topics that gets dismissed or rejected the most. Summary: Today in class we took a quiz about rhetorical situations.  Reflection: Taking a quiz allows me to test my brain for all the knowledge that was poured into me throughout the week. The most creative thing I have ever made was a 3d model of Georgia for my Georgia studies class in 8th grade. The assignment was to create an outline of the state along with its different regions. For my project I added in real rocks, tinsel, leaves, clay, felt, etc. This added to the regions and what kind of elements they had. For the Blue Ridge region I added in mini clay mountains to represent the mountainous landscape. Doing this project not only helped with my understanding of Georgia but it also allowed me to be artistic and creative. This is my most creative thing I have ever created because I truly had the best time creating it and it also got voted most creative in my class. Summary: Today we explored spacecat through a speech given by Donald Trump. Reflection: Learning the technique of spacecat will help me in the future by allowing me to breakdown a speech by better understanding it. The one time I actually understood what feeling lost felt like was walking into freshman year of high school, I only knew a handful of people, my classes were scattered everywhere and I didn't know any of my teachers. Walking in, I had a map in my hand hoping that I could locate my classes. By third period, I had already gotten lost. I felt hopeless and that everyone was looking at me, however, in reality it was just the mindset I was in. I wasn't actually lost, I knew I was in the school building, I knew where my next class was, and I knew that I could get help as long as I asked. The only thing that was in the way, was my mindset. I was mentally lost because I had hit a dead end.  Summary: Today in class we identified, discussed, and observed types of claims. Reflection: Learning these different types of claims can help me understand future arguments by helping me decipher what kind of technique people are using and how I can put that into practice myself.  This school year I hope to accomplish multiple things, both inside and outside of school. This school year in AP lang,  I would like become better with my writing skills, along with expanding my vocabulary, and learn how to construct and deliver a speech. Expanding my vocabulary will help me develop better writing skills and help with my speeches. Having better knowledge about delivering speeches will not only help me in this class but eventually in the future as well. These skills that I desire to learn will help me in the long run for future success. 

 Living in Atlanta and being exposed to different kinds of cultures has made me more curious and willing. Being around different cultures has opened my eyes to seeing new thoughts, practices, etc. If I were talking to someone new in Atlanta I would want them to understand that Atlanta is extremely diverse. If you were to walk into a basic grocery store in the center of Atlanta, you would see all different kinds of races, cultures, religions, etc. If I were to live in a different area in the world where diversity wasn't as big, I would not enjoy living there as much. Summary: Today in class we looked over a speech given by the mayor addressing the protests about George Floyd. Reflection: This speech helped me practice my rhetorical situations and it helped me most of all understand the whole George Floyd situation on a different level.
